What Happens When You Contact Us

When you get in touch, we will arrange a brief initial call to understand your case. That call typically covers the nature of the proceedings, the financial issues requiring expert analysis, the court timetable and any deadlines already in place.

Following that conversation, we provide a written scope of work and fee estimate. For business valuation reports, we typically offer fixed or capped fees. For court attendance and ongoing advisory work, we agree hourly rates in advance. There are no hidden charges.

Once terms are agreed, we issue a formal engagement letter and begin work promptly. In family proceedings where court permission is required to instruct an expert under FPR Part 25, we can assist with the wording of the application.

What to Have Ready

To give you an accurate fee estimate and timescale, it helps to have the following to hand when you contact us:

  • A brief description of the case and the financial issues in dispute
  • The type of instruction required (SJE, party-appointed, advisory)
  • The court timetable, including any existing directions for expert evidence
  • Key financial documents already in your possession (Form E, business accounts, disclosure bundles)

If you do not have all of this ready, that is not a problem. We are happy to discuss the case at an early stage and advise on what will be needed. See our glossary for explanations of common forensic accounting terms.
